The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the Bill on Amendments to the Law "On Television and Radio Broadcasting" (regarding Harmonization of Broadcasting Program Concept European with European Convention on Transfrontier Television)

The bill (Reg. No63412) envisages abolition of the norm of the Law "On Television and Radio Broadcasting" establishing 50% quota of musical works of Ukrainian origin in the air broadcasters of general weekly rate of broadcasting of the relevant television and radio organizations.

The amendments were caused by the principles of the European with European Convention on Transfrontier Television, ratified by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on December 17, 2008.
